Delegations of the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) will lead a caravan in Havana against the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.

Nearly 90 young people from thirty countries will march from the floating dock in Old Havana in demand of an end to the blockade.

As part of the activities of the General Council of the WFDY, which is meeting in Havana, a Mission of Solidarity with Cuba was inaugurated on the 24th to end the blockade and any imperialist interference wherever it may be committed, the Juventud Rebelde newspaper reported.

The final session of the General Council will be held this Sunday at the Fidel Castro Center, an institution dedicated to the study of the life and work of the historic leader.

The WFDY was founded on November 10th, 1945 in Budapest in opposition to fascism, and adopted a commitment to peace. It is currently represented by 136 organizations from 97 countries.

According to Cuban authorities, the blockade has intensified in recent years to unprecedented levels, and an example of this is that Cuba registered losses of 3,806.5 million dollars from August 2021 to February 2022.
