Santa Clara, Cuba, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met on Thursday with workers from a self-consumption unit attached to the Torcido Tobacco company in Villa Clara.

Diaz-Canel, in his capacity of parliamentary candidate to National People’s Power Assembly, spoke with workers from that enterprise, where a small group is supported by mobilizations by the rest of the company’s workers.

Located on the premises of the Valle del Yabu Agricultural Company, 4.5 kilometers from this central Cuban city, the farm engages in the production of meat, eggs and other items.

Together with seven other parliamentary candidates, who will be voted on March 26, the head of States, who is also the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), also met residents of the Julian Grimao community.

The Valle del Yabu company, in whose areas the meeting took place, was founded half a century ago and is committed to expanding modern agriculture, in a systematic exchange between science and technology, with a view to producing and marketing wholesale.

On this seventh day touring Villa Clara province, Diaz-Canel visited other rural communities, met with agricultural producers and visited important enterprises.
