Cuban La Colmenita children company to return to US stages

The Cuban children's theater company La Colmenita, directed by Carlos Alberto "Tin" Cremata, is preparing to return to the United States between September 25 and October 3.
Nearly 13 years after a successful tour of the country, the company, which was declared UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador in 2007, will stage one of its best-known plays, Cinderella according to the Beatles, in Tampa, Florida, New York, and Washington DC.
The popular tale, by French author Charles Perrault, has been transformed by Cremata into an amusing plot in which the songs of the famous British band are inserted as an essential element.
The original version, in Spanish and English, is sure to get more than one person dancing when they see, for example, the children’s talent on stage with the legendary Liverpool band’s “Because” to the rhythm of guaguanco.
The children’s theater company, founded on February 14, 1990, visited the United States in 2011 as part of a crusade of love for the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters who were then imprisoned in this country.
