Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil expressed gratitude for the support received from Cuba in the face of attacks by the transnational far-right against the Bolivarian nation.

“Amid the threats from a declining empire and its local accomplices, Venezuela strengthens itself with the unconditional support of friends and solidary allies,” Gil said.

“On behalf of President Nicolas Maduro, we wish to express our sincerest gratitude to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez for his firm rejection of the irresponsible calls for military intervention, which threaten the lives and peace of our peoples,” he added.

His statements came after support from Foreign Minister Rodriguez, who emphasized the historical ties that unite Cuba and Venezuela.

On Sunday, the Cuban government rejected former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe’s call for an “international intervention” in Venezuela to remove President Maduro from power.

“The irresponsible calls for an international military intervention in Venezuela, made by various actors, are a serious matter that we reject. Should such an adventure proceed, it would have significant and unpredictable consequences for regional peace and security,” Cuban FM Rodriguez stated.

The Cuban government described the inauguration day of President Nicolas Maduro for the 2025–2031 term as historic, highlighting his commitment to the legacy of Bolivar, Sucre, Chavez, and Maduro. The Cuban diplomacy also reaffirmed the solidarity and support of the Cuban people for President Maduro.
