The 32nd Havana International Book Fair will take place from February 15 to 25, and as is traditional, the main venue will be the Morro-Cabaña Historic Military Park in Havana.

According to the Cuban Book Institute, the main organizer of the so-called event, this year’s guest of honor is the Federative Republic of Brazil, and the event is dedicated to Cuban intellectuals Isabel Monal and Francisco Lopez Sacha.

The Fair will have the usual sixteen sub-venues distributed in several Havana municipalities, while the New Latin American Cinema Foundation and the National Museum of Music will be incorporated as two new sub-venues.

Tickets have been on sale for days in Havana’s bookstores and can also be purchased for 15 Cuban pesos for daily tickets and 100 pesos for permanent tickets.

Public access begins in the morning of February 16 and entrance for children under 12 years of age is free.

Under the slogan “Reading is building identity,” this year’s event aims to promote reading as one of the main activities for the formation of individual and collective awareness and an authentic critical thinking, according to organizers.
