Another challenge taken by Cuban science: a vaccine candidate against dengue
especiales
Some media have echoed this report in recent days: The Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) is working intensively on a preventive vaccine candidate against dengue.
And the official Twitter account of the Cuban company is providing information in this regard. A recent post states:
"The vaccine candidate against dengue that we are developing at CIGB is based on recombinant proteins: a very safe technological platform."
And adds: "We have a tetravalent candidate, based on proteins from the 4 dengue viruses, which we are evaluating at the moment."
The aim is that this condition can be subclinical or with mild symptoms.
"If the level of dengue virus infection (that is, the viral load) is lowered, severity is avoided; even the symptoms," as stated in another post on the social network.
The Cuban science takes on another challenge, which will have an impact on the fight against one of the most widespread diseases on the current scene.
