The renowned group –which traveled at the invitation of the Senate of the Republic of Mexico- presented the show La Cucarachita Martina and Los Van Van at the Senate, the National Cinematheque and the Fausto Vega Theater of the Iztapalapa delegation; also at the Tiempo Nuevo Arts and Crafts Center and the Isidro Fabela Sports Center of the Tlalpan delegation; and made three presentations at the Ignacio Lopez Tarso Theater of the Alvaro Obregon delegation, the Granma newspaper reported on Monday.

An event of great importance took place at the Teatro de la Juventud of the Mexican capital on July 31, when after performing for almost 2,000 people in a jam packed theater, by popular request of persons who couldn’t get into the center La Colmenita repeated the show for the same amount of people.

Important Mexican media outlets such as La Jornada, El Excelsior, El Universal and Notimex news agency reported on the visit of the Cuban children’s group.

Now back on the island, La Colmenita is getting ready for its next artistic tour in August at communities of eastern Granma province, near important historic places like Playa Las Coloradas, Cinco Palmas, La Demajagua, la Loma de Braulio Coroneaux and Dos Rios.

Over the next few days, the Good Will Ambassadors of UNICEF will also perform in Media Luna, Guisa, Manzanillo and Bayamo.
