Jorge Luis Perdomo, first Vice Minister of the Cuban Communication Ministry, met the Director of the Office of Radio Communications for the International Telecommunication Union, Francois Rancy, as confirmed by the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry today. The note signed by the Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry published in its official website CubaMinrex, said that both officials talked about interesting topics, in particular the ones linked with the agreements reached at the World Telecommunications Conference held in November 2015.

Among them there is the perfecting and improving for the use of the electric spectrum efficiently, by the ITU member countries.

In the meeting, adds the report, Perdomo made emphasis on the sovereign use of the space and in the topic of the transition to the digital television in the country.

Also, Perdomo referred to the actions carried out in the process of computerization of the Cuban society as part of the political will of the government of achieving a prosperous and sustainable development for all.

Meanwhile, Rancy, admitted the prestige of Cuba in radio communications and its active participation in the works of the UIT.

Also, he ratified the interest and commitment of the Organization in strengthening the exchange and the cooperation with Cuba in the diverse spheres of competition of this International organization.
