Mexicans Reaffirm Solidarity with Cuba

The 21th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba is scheduled to conclude its sessions today in the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, with the adoption of an action plan to support the Cuban Revolution. Attended by hundreds of delegates from several Mexican states, representatives of social and plitical orgaizations, of the National Regeneration Movement and the Labor Party, the forum demanded the end of the US blockade against Cuba.
The meeting was convened by the Mexican Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, with its leader Jesus Escamilla calling for a greater involvement of the young people to secure the continuity of actions to back the Cuban people.
Escamilla paid tribute to late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a champion of Latin American integration, on the third anniversary of his death.
Meanwhile, the recrot of the campus, Javier Corona, said referred to the longstanding relations with Cuba and recalled the links of Cuban National Hero Jose Marti with Mexico.
Meanwhile, Firast Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Elio Gamez, appreciated the unswerving Mexican people's solidarity with Cuba.
Different organizations sent salutation messages to the meeting, also attended by Ramon Jaramillo, a representative of the solidarity with Cuba in Colombia.
The meeting paid tribute to figures that contributed significantly to the Cuban Revolution like Antonio del Conde, also known as El Cuate, whose support was crucial for the armed expedition organized by Fidel Castro in Mexico, which changed the history of Cuba on January 1st, 1959.
