Giovanni Saverio Furio, president of the Socialist group and Democrats of the European Parliament is on a visit to Cuba, during which he is expected to meet with officials from different spheres of the Caribbean nation, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

According to his work agenda, Furio will hold a meeting on Tuesday morning with Ana Maria Mari, Vice-president of the National Assembly of the People's Power, and later will speak with Eusebio Leal, Historian of Havana, and will tour the Palacio del Segundo Cabo, where a restoration project with the participation of the European Union is boosted.

Jose Ramon Balaguer, head of International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, will receive the visitor on Wednesday to hold an exchange, after which it is expected that the foreign official visits the Jose Marti Memorial.

On Wednesday afternoon, Furio will meet with Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, while on Thursday he will do so with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Also, on Wednesday afternoon, he will meet Furio Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment and on Thursday with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Likewise, the MP, who traveled to Cuba accompanied by other members of the group he represents, will hold exchanges with representatives of various organizations of civil society at the end of his stay in Havana.
