The African leader’s official visit aims to further strengthen bilateral cooperation ties.

Prior to his meeting with President Raúl, Gottfried Geingob paid tribute to José Martí at the Revolution Square, where he and his accompanying delegation toured the Memorial dedicated to the Cuban national hero.

During his stay, which runs through Thursday, September 17th, the Namibian head of state is scheduled to visit Havana’s National Drugs Quality Control Center and the Carlos Juan Finlay Institute.

Cuba and Namibia established diplomatic relations on March 21st, 1990.
