This story began with a rumor. The protagonists: three children, a considerable amount of money and the value of the Cuban family. The sense of journalism told us that after the comment of the people we could find a peculiar deed, and why not, a good piece of news.

Up to the tourist municipality of Viñales we arrived in search of the novelty. At the "Eduardo García Delgado" primary school, we located the sixth graders Maikol, Lesnier and Adrian, who found and returned a wallet with three thousand 300 euros.

Maikol Eduardo Rodríguez Correa and Lesnier Alejandro Ramos Machín, this  is how they remember what happened.

"When we finished school that day, we changed clothes and went to the sports field to train soccer. On the way back home, there was the wallet lying on the sidewalk, our reaction was to go to Maikol's house to see what we were going to do with it, we took it and checked it to see what there was inside.

"There was money, documents and a passport", they narrated with the ingenuity of their eleven years old.

And the family?

Sandra Correa Sanchez is Maikol´s mother, and she did not hesitate to go to the immigration office of Viñales to return it, along with the children and the portfolio found.

"I saw that the children came rushing, and Maikol said to me: Mom, we've found a tourist's wallet.

"I simply told them, just a moment, you three sit down here, and when I saw the documents and the amount of money there, I had to determine a situation in which the children understood that money could not blind them. From the heart of the family, they have always been told to do good deeds."

Moral

"Values, that´s what I explained to them. First of all, he is a person who is outside his country, second, he would be an undocumented person in Cuba. This is how I educate my children and the friends who are with them, I always tell them: what is not your own must be returned.

"The foundation of human value is sown since childhood, no matter where you live, if you are poor or rich, it is the child who will have that value, that image of family, school, society, to do good to others".

 Conclusions

"The tourist did not speak Spanish and said, in English, that he wanted to speak with his heart and show all the gratitude he felt, and that it was hard to believe that those children were able to find that amount of money, take it to their parents and return it. He said he was VERY grateful for this country, the education of the family and thanked them for everything." Epilogue…

This is Cuba, so are its people.
