Mr. Rubio: Behind the Nobel Prize for María Corina Machado?
especiales

Accusing Mr. Rubio of being behind the Nobel Peace Prize, which was just awarded to the anti-Chavez Machado, is not an arbitrary accusation.
Mr. Rubio's support for Machado is, so to speak, historic, well-known, and part of the US Foreign Minister's personal agenda against the Cuban Revolution and, of course, the Venezuelan Revolution.
In the scheme of regime change in Venezuela, it’s also evident that the now brand-new Nobel Peace Prize is a key element in a hypothetical and highly unlikely post-Chavez scenario. In short, Machado is the figure of the "post-Bolivarian era," knowing that the "elected" president, Edmundo González, would last as long as an ice cube in midsummer, leading any political option imposed by the US Marines.
Having established Machado's role in the aggressor's puzzle, what better way to attack her than with some attribute that grants her prestige with international impact, as is often the case with the Nobel Peace Prize.
But in this need of the aggressors, and of Mr. Rubio in particular, they took away Chief Trump's aspirations to brandish his Nobel Prize, also "legitimate" if this absurd staging continues, including the 11 million Swedish kronor, approximately one million US dollars, included in the award.
Shortly after it became known to whom the Norwegians had awarded the controversial prize, someone published a facsimile of the note nominating Machado, signed by Mr. Rubio when he was still a senator, that is, dated August 26, 2024.
He was joined in that nomination by figures such as Senator Rick Scott, with a well-known anti-Cuban background, the now ambassador Mike Gallagher, and of course, the three horsemen of the apocalypse: Diaz Balart, the narrow-minded Representative Salazar, and the systemically corrupt Carlos Giménez, all supporters of the scorched earth policy against Venezuela and Cuba.
It’s unclear, at least publicly, whether Chief Trump was aware of these "minor" details; Nor whether the Swedish and Norwegian parliamentarians, both far-right, who formally nominated him in time, according to the prize's internal regulations, that is, until January 31, 2025, knew.
And yes, because it must be clarified that the other nominations were pure show, a Trump-style spectacle. This is the case with the genocidal Netanyahu, who at this point in the game also leaves no clarity on whether his participation helped the nomination or further complicated it.
The mention of the criminal Zionist infantry murderer is very appropriate, because the note sent by the aforementioned Machado to Netanyahu also surfaced in the media, asking for his support in doing what he knows how to do: turning Venezuela into the Gaza Strip of the Caribbean. In other words, Machado requested a military invasion of her own country, using the cruel war machine of Zionism.

So, returning to Mr. Rubio's role, what happened that caused the Secretary of State to fail in his obligation to guarantee Trump's controversial and stubborn interest? Obviously, if anyone within the federal government had that responsibility, it was the State Department.
In the previous months, international media reported alleged pressure from the US Foreign Ministry on the Norwegian Nobel Committee; even the Norwegian government expressed concern about the matter and announced that it was preparing for any action from Washington, which, as is well known, resorts to tariff measures to "convince" those who obstruct Trump's efforts.
But it’s also evident that either the Norwegians, especially those on the Committee, are honorable figures and do not allow themselves to be blackmailed, or, what may also be very possible, that the alleged pressure from the State Department was also pure show, to deceive Trump.
In any case, whether due to incompetence and disrespect or a malicious attitude, Mr. Rubio most likely favored the award for Machado, ultimately harming his boss.
Once news of Machado's Nobel Prize was announced, the White House reacted with annoyance and probably surprise. Steven Cheung, his communications director, did not mince words in rejecting the award, calling it a political decision rather than one in the interest of peace.
Hours later, a personal call from Trump was reported, congratulating Machado. This seemingly contradictory and intriguing act may have an explanation, connected to the imminent aggression against Venezuela at the time the award was announced.
It’s presumable that Mr. Rubio downgraded him. For now, Trump is fuming, asking him to continue with the already planned war, and that Trump could ultimately have his reward next year if he achieves some peace in this turbulent world. But in the Trump universe, these kinds of betrayals don't go unpunished; things will happen.
Some notes on the Norwegian Nobel Committee
The members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee are appointed by the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) and are made up of five local political figures. The current one includes one from the so-called center-left or Norwegian social democracy, and the remaining four are from the right or center-right, if such centers even exist for anything.
With this composition of the Committee, it’s very difficult to expect the success of any of the many personalities of the world's left, who take sometimes epic positions in favor of peace, or those who, regardless of their ideological leanings, are currently fighting to end the genocide in Gaza and bring the guilty parties to justice. This year, the Committee had 336 more people to choose from.
From a historical perspective, it’s striking that the latest laureates have always been opponents of governments frowned upon by the so-called Western world; as if what counts is whether the recipient has a certain political affiliation and not their dedication to the struggle for peace.
For example, the Nobel Peace Prizes since 2021, with the exception of 2024, have been dedicated to the so-called "axis of evil" according to Euro-Western cosmogony: 2021 to Dmitry Muratov, an opponent of the Russian government; 2022 to Ales Bialiatsky, an opponent of the Belarusian government; 2023 to Narges Mohammadi, an opponent of the Iranian government; and now, in 2025, to María Corina Machado, an opponent of the Venezuelan government.
Clearly, the Committee had to do something in the face of the aforementioned pressures, to avoid being subordinated to candidate Trump, as Kristian Berg, the Committee's secretary, warned in a timely manner from Oslo, and to avoid Trump's wrath.
So the Norwegians, infected by their neighbors, "played dumb" and decided on an ally/subordinate of Trump himself. "We won't give it to you, but to someone you need to boost in the current situation," the Committee members probably thought.
Now we have to wonder what the organizers of the solemn ceremony, where the Nobel Prizes are awarded in person, will do; what explanation they will give, what face the Norwegians who awarded the prize will put on when they go to award it to Machado, if the invasion of Venezuela she has promoted were already underway.
Be that as it may, awarding the prize to Machado is not only a Machiavellian invention by Mr. Rubio, with all the tribulations described here; it’s also inexplicable that the Committee favored a notorious promoter of the unconventional warfare that Venezuela has suffered over the years.
Trump in his labyrinth.
Closing the script of this play, which has nothing to envy of any soap opera about the world of imperial politics, a more conspiratorial perspective is appropriate, related to the typical intrigues that generally crowd in Washington.
It seems quite clear that Trump is not going through a good time from a domestic perspective, as conflicts accumulate in the Oval Office, with no evidence of them being resolved expeditiously.
They are well known. Socioeconomic indicators call into question either his tariff war strategy or the perverse redistribution of the federal budget in favor of the hyper-rich, the shutdown of the federal government itself, and, apropos of the Nobel Peace Prize, the deployment of US forces to US territory, as well as the ongoing international wars in which he compromised his peacemaking promises.
And like a specter that, far from dissipating, threatens to loom large, is the very likely publication of Jeffrey Epstein's files.
In this regard, the latest available figures indicate a sort of tie in the House of Representatives to approve such a release, and the tiebreaker would come from a newly elected Democratic legislator, whose installation process or ceremony has been postponed by the speaker of this body, but naturally, that inauguration will occur at some point.
Was it in the Democrats' interest for Trump to receive such a noble prize, the Nobel Peace Prize? Absolutely not, not to mention that the midterm election race has already begun, a few weeks early.
And continuing in this conspiratorial mode, although it’s challenging to categorically prove it, a simple look at the affiliations of the Norwegian Committee members reveals their inclinations, or perhaps even ties, to center-right or so-called liberal sectors of the opposition Democratic Party.
Did they exchange opinions among themselves? It's difficult to know, but it can't be ruled out.
See how they conspired. The reasons for leaving Chief Trump without his gift. Mr. Rubio's inopia or treacherous attitude, plus the needs of the anti-Venezuelan war, and, to top it all off, the "politicized" leanings of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, according to Director Cheung.
But Trump has been clear. He vehemently emphasized the significance of the award and its importance to him. Probably in the worst-case scenario, during his speech at that meeting on September 30th with all the generals, the president said about the award: "It will be a great insult to our country, I can tell you that. I don't want it, I want the country to have it."
That's how things stand; now we wait for the next nomination, and maybe, just maybe, Trump will get what he thinks he deserves. After all, the world based on civilized rules is battered, not to say dismantled.
In a paradox of politics, the Norwegian Nobel Committee, called to promote world peace, ended up leaning more toward the opposite, because its decision stimulates the escalation of war in the Caribbean, a military aggression against a sovereign country in Our America.
But no matter, the echoes of a military defeat for imperialism will surely reach Oslo if the US Marines finally land in Venezuela. By then, history will award a greater prize for authentic peace to the noble Venezuelan people.
