Jazz, good jazz to start the year. The 36th edition of the International Jazz Plaza Festival will start on January 19th and will run until the 24th of the same month.

The sanitary contingency will condition the festivity, but complying with the health protocols established by authorities there will be concerts in the two rooms of the National Theater of Cuba. Concerts will also be held at which has been the traditional venue for years: Culture House in Plaza de la Revolución.

In the National Theater live concerts will take place with the reduction of the capacity for the audience, therefore guaranteeing the social distancing between the audience.

On that stage will be the maestro Bobby Carcassés, the group Síntesis, Rolando Luna, Maraca, Ruy López Nussa, and Roberto Fonseca; there will also be tribute concerts dedicated to Pello El Afrocán, Rubén González and to Rumba music.

Online concerts with venue in Spain, Haiti, and the United States will be screened at the Culture House of Plaza: these are the proposals that will grant the Festival an international dimension. An exhibition of maestro Bobby Carcassés will also open.

The theoretical sessions of the International Colloquium will be dedicated to the centenarians of Frank Emilio Flynn, Chico O'Farrill, and Cándido Camero, as well as the 110th anniversary of the birth of Armando Romeu, the 80th birthday of Chucho Valdés, and the centenary of the death of Miguel Faílde.
