Coordinated Regional Response

On Wednesday, the Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) executed simultaneous strikes against U.S. positions in response to a Washington attack on a residential neighborhood in southern Iran where a wedding was taking place.

Specifically, military detachments in Jordan, Bahrain, and Erbil (Iraq) were bombarded. A combined missile and drone attack targeted the command post and quarters of the U.S. command at Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The operation caused the "death of several enemy military personnel," according to a statement released by the IRGC.

At the same time, Iranian forces indicated that the hangar and launch ramp "for deploying drones used in attacks against civilians" were set ablaze, resulting in the destruction of several drones, though further operational details were not disclosed.

Casualties Reported Following U.S. Strike on Wedding

The American strike hit a venue hosting a wedding in the town of Kuhestak, located in the Sirik District of Hormozgan Province, leaving at least four people dead and 68 injured.

The IRGC characterized the incident as a "flagrant violation of human rights." Furthermore, they added: "The U.S. military turned a wedding celebration in Sirik into a tragedy by bombing and destroying a residence."

Escalation and Counterstrikes

On Tuesday, Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone attacks against what it designated as "enemy positions" in the region, according to state-run news agency Fars, citing field observations by its journalists.

These reports come after U.S. forces carried out a second strike on the Persian nation in less than 48 hours.

The new American bombardments took place shortly after the shelling of the Iranian island of Larak, situated in the Strait of Hormuz, on Sunday night. Those actions represented Washington's first offensive against Iranian territory since late July.
