Iran remains steadfast in its principled positions during negotiations and announces that its participation in the next round has not yet been decided, according to statements made this Monday by the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei.
He indicated that, "unlike the other party, which constantly changes its position and resorts to media statements," Iran maintains stances he described as "reasonable and fair."
Furthermore, he emphasized that "the Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize deadlines or ultimatums in the defense of its national interests" and warned that these will be protected "for as long as necessary."
Baghaei stressed that, from the beginning, red lines had been clearly defined, noting that external pressure would not cause changes in these fundamental positions. He also reiterated that many of the details circulated in the media are "mere speculation" that has not been confirmed.
Regarding the nuclear program, he stated that "at no stage of the negotiations, whether ongoing or previous, has the transfer of Iran's enriched uranium to the United States or any other country been proposed, and this option is not on the table for the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Although negotiations began this month in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, to end the conflict, they concluded without the expected results. In this context, Trump blamed the failure on the Iranian side, which, according to him, refused to "give up its nuclear ambitions."
