The Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), in coordination with the Cuban Institute of Music and the Bis Music record label, with the aim of promoting and advancing the work of young singers in Cuba, is calling for applications for the Elena Burke Vocal Performance Scholarship.

The call is directed at all Cubans residing in the national territory who possess vocal skills, are at most 35 years of age—whether or not they belong to the AHS—and have not previously won the competition.

Interested parties must submit a minimum sample of five songs in mp3 format within a Google Drive folder—with acceptable quality that allows for listening and evaluation—in which the recorded tracks belong to Cuban composers corresponding to any genre of popular and/or traditional music.

To that sample they must attach a document—Word or PDF—that includes the conceptual foundation of the project in one page or less, as well as the applicant's full name, identity card, home address, email address, telephone number, and curriculum summary.

Applications may be sent until October 31, 2026, to the email address becasypremiosahs@gmail.com, specifying "Beca Elena Burke" in the subject line, or delivered in digital format to any of the AHS headquarters in the country.

After the material collection process, evaluation will begin by the same juries that will select the project deserving of the scholarship, announcing it in January 2027, during a public event at the Pabellón Cuba, the national headquarters of the Hermanos Saíz Association.

The jury's decision will be final and will grant the winning artist a group of professional benefits, including a certifying diploma and payment of 5,000 CUP for six months to support the assembly of the repertoire; the production of promotional material under the Bis Music record label including the awarded works and/or others that respond to the characteristics of the scholarship.

Depending on the conditions and needs of the awarded project, said material may take shape in one of the following formats: EP, CD, EPK, music video, musical audiovisual—recording of the launch concert—thereby joining the catalog of the prestigious Cuban record company.

If the scholarship recipient is not an AHS member and is interested in joining the association, their admission will be considered on an expedited basis.
