In the 63-point final declaration of the meeting, participants expressed their concern over the situation to which Cuba is subjected and underscored the status of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace based on mutual respect and non-intervention, reflecting the bloc’s growing support for the Island’s demands for sovereignty and justice.

Additionally, the foreign ministers backed a deep reform of the global governance system, including the United Nations and the Bretton Woods institutions, to give greater voice to developing countries and the Global South.

Regarding the Middle East and North Africa region, they expressed deep concern over recent events, and on Palestine and Israel, they reaffirmed the two-state solution, with a viable Palestinian state within the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.

Likewise, they condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza, demanding an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and full humanitarian access.

Concerning Lebanon, they called for full compliance with the ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all its territory, and regarding Syria, they advocated for a peaceful and inclusive political transition without foreign interference.

Finally, they strongly condemned the terrorist attack that occurred in Jammu and Kashmir (India) in April 2025 and reaffirmed their commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.

The declaration also denounces unilateral coercive measures contrary to international law.

Furthermore, through the aforementioned declaration and an outcome document, they agreed on a common position establishing cooperation in priority areas and on global and regional affairs.

Representatives from member countries and partner nations of this organization representative of the Global South also agreed to collaborate on issues such as the reform of global governance institutions, including the United Nations Security Council and international financial institutions.

Also on trade, industry and finance, artificial intelligence, energy security, climate, biodiversity and sustainability, health, as well as fostering agricultural productivity and ensuring global food and nutritional security.

Likewise, they established a commitment to work jointly on supply chain resilience, disaster risk reduction, and people-to-people exchanges, which, according to India’s Foreign Ministry, constitute a fundamental priority for the South Asian nation’s pro tempore presidency.

Official Indian sources stated that there is a general consensus around the need for BRICS to work decisively in seeking common ground to achieve practical, viable, inclusive, and development-oriented solutions through sustained commitment.

However, they acknowledged the repercussions within BRICS and for Global South countries of the current period of unprecedented geopolitical and economic uncertainty affecting the world, with conflicts, climate-related risks, technological advances and associated disruptions, as well as challenges and disruptions in supply chains.
