An impressive show of solidarity with Cuba took place at Syntagma Square in Athens, in front of the Hellenic Parliament, Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Communication Director Yaira Jiménez highlighted this Wednesday.

According to Jiménez, thousands of citizens gathered in the Greek capital "responded to the call of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) to raise their voices against imperialism and in defense of the Cuban Revolution."

Jiménez noted on her X profile that the demonstrators, bearing Cuban flags, banners, and spirited chants, "listened to the combative speech of Dimitris Koutsoumbas, Secretary General of the KKE, who forcefully denounced the criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States" on the island.

"The mobilization did not end in the square. Led by youth organizations and other groups, the demonstrators marched through the main avenues of the Greek capital until reaching the U.S. diplomatic mission, sending a clear and resounding message: Cuba is not alone — hands off Cuba," the official reported.
