In the face of the tightening economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States government—which includes an unprecedented persecution of fuel supply sources to the Island—Cuba is accelerating the installation of photovoltaic solar panels in prioritized institutions of the Health System.

According to information published by the Ministry of Public Health on its X account, the project to install these solar modules is already underway.

The measure, which is part of a government contingency program, seeks to protect services vital to the population and guarantee the operability of emergency rooms in polyclinics across the country.

This action, extending throughout the nation, benefits 161 maternal homes, 156 nursing homes, 305 grandparents' homes, and 556 polyclinics, among other vital infrastructures.

With actions such as the installation of solar panels in emergency rooms, the Cuban Health System reaffirms its determination to leave no one unprotected and to overcome obstacles imposed from abroad.

In these difficult times, solidarity and the pursuit of homegrown solutions stand as the main weapons to protect what is most precious: the lives of the Cuban people.
