Lumberjacks One Swing Away from Another Baseball Final

Las Tunas Takes Commanding 3-1 Semifinal Lead Over Artemisa
The Las Tunas Lumberjacks turned to a reliable and seasoned source, with timely hitting from Yassel Izaguirre and effective pitching from Yosmel Garcés, to move within one "swing" of the finals after defeating the Artemisa Hunters six runs to one today during the fourth matchup of the semifinal in the 64th National Baseball Series.
After managing just one hit in ten opportunities previously, Izaguirre arrived at the Saturday contest with a performance similar to what he has provided throughout the tournament, hitting a double and a home run in five official at-bats, along with three RBIs. Furthermore, the offense returned to its quality parameters, especially the men in the heart of the lineup with contributions from Yordanis Alarcón and Henry Quintero, who drove in two and one runs, respectively.
Strong Pitching Performance Seals the Win
On the pitching side, Garcés worked five innings, allowing a .250 batting average against, resulting from five hits faced by 20 batters from the "pentagon." He also secured his second victory in the duel against the Artemisa squad. The starter also received support from relievers Rodolfo Díaz and Alberto Pablo Civil to diminish the locals' hopes.
Once again, Geonel Gutiérrez succumbed before the halfway point of the game and took the loss after allowing four "little lines," as well as seven hits in four and two-thirds innings. However, the support from the hitters was also absent until the final inning when they managed to put runs on the scoreboard at the 26 de Julio Stadium.
With the determination to conclude the series, the Lumberjacks (3-1) will turn to Eliánder Bravo as their winning card for Sunday's game, while the Hunters (1-3) will look to cling to hope to stay alive in the postseason.
