China today once again underscored its strong opposition to external interference in Cuba's affairs and emphasized the Asian giant's support for the island.

“I would like to reiterate that China firmly supports Cuba in safeguarding its national sovereignty and security,” stated Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.

Likewise, he again categorically rejected “any inhumane action or practice that deprives the Cuban people of their right to survival and development.”

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that China will continue to provide support and assistance to Cuba.

For two consecutive days this week, the Foreign Ministry declared its firm position alongside the Caribbean nation amid the blockade and economic strangulation measures intensified by the United States.

In addition to emphasizing this support, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi praised last week the tenacious struggle and courage of the Cuban people in their challenge against hegemony, as well as the international respect earned by the island.
