Cuba Holds Fourth National Exercise Against Crime
especiales

Cuba today launched the Fourth National Exercise for the Prevention and Confrontation of Crime, an initiative aimed at strengthening both institutional and community responses to criminal activity and other harmful phenomena affecting social order.
The exercise seeks to enhance the operational preparedness of law enforcement forces, optimize investigative processes, and reinforce mechanisms of community oversight and social engagement, according to a report from the newspaper Granma.
Among the activities scheduled for this week are surveillance and patrol exercises, police checkpoints, preventive meetings with individuals identified as potential offenders, the streamlining of criminal procedures, and oversight visits to verify compliance with the law across various sectors.
The program also includes exemplary trials, inspections of administrative leadership teams and state regulatory bodies, with the objective of reinforcing discipline and transparency in public management.
A key component of the exercise is the mobilization of community vigilance structures, such as the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution’s Vigilance Units, workers’ security brigades, farmers’ patrols, and the Mirando al Mar detachments, all considered pillars of the grassroots prevention system.
According to Granma, the initiative coincides with the continuation of the campaign Winning Against Drugs, which has featured preventive and enforcement activities, neighborhood debates, comprehensive interventions in communities, schools, and workplaces, among others.
