Cuba with 26 new cases of Covid-19, no critical nor serious patients

Havana, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) today reported 26 new positive cases of Covid-19; this is the third consecutive day the country remains without critical or serious cases.

According to the MINSAP report, until the previous day 275 patients were admitted, 143 were suspected and 132 were confirmed active.

In order to detect new infections, the country carried out 1,950 samples. The total number of samples taken since 2020 is 13,958,395.

In addition, a total of 1,105,978 people have been infected with the virus in Cuba.

So far 8,529 people have died from complications associated with Covid-19 and Cuba has a lethality rate of 0.77 percent compared to 1.16 percent in the world and 1.71 percent in the Americas.

During the last 24 hours, 15 discharges were granted; the total of people recovered from the disease is 1,097,230, which represents 99.2 percent of all those infected.

As part of Cuba’s vaccination strategy, some 38,525,098 doses of its own immunogens (Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala) have been administered. In all, 90% of Cuban population has been vaccinated against Covid-19.

In addition, a total of 7,390,239 people have received the fourth booster dose.

Likewise, since May, the country began the application of a second booster to people 50 years of age and older, as well as to vulnerable groups (health, BioCubaFarma, tourism and education workers).
