Soldiers Paulo César Rivera and Jonathan Andrés Díaz were freed in the Arauca region early this morning, according to local media reports.

The transfer of the soldiers happened under what is known as the "Special Humanitarian Agreement," which allows for the temporary cessation of hostilities. As a result the International Committee of the Red Cross was able to enter the area in order to pick up the detainees.

TeleSUR correspondent Milton Henao reported that the Colombian vice Minister of Defense was there to take part in the release.
