A total of 385 judokas interested in participating at Havana´s Grand Prix

A total of 385 judokas, representing 65 countries, have confirmed their participation at the Havana´s Grand Prix to be held January 22nd-24th.
237 men and 148 women are the total so far. These numbers are significantly higher than the first edition held in Cuba in 2014.
The Cuban team may have a total of 56 judokas. Then, the teams of Russia (20), Germany (19), United States (18), UK and Hungary (14) are other teams with a considerable number of athletes.
London-2012 Olympic champions Brazilian Sarah Menezes, US Kayla Harrison, and Cuban Idalys Ortiz are among the stars to be present in Havana. Other world medalists and several world ranking leaders will also give prestige to the Grand Prix.
Among men, Azeri Rustam Orujov tops the world ranking in the 73kg and Elmar Gasimov also leads the 100kg. By the way, this division 100kg will be very tough as Belgium Toma Nikiforov and German Dimitri Peters, as well as Cuban Jose Armenteros are very strong competitors.
