The Canadians won 3-1 (25-23, 19-25, 25-18 and 25-17) with highlight to John Gordon Perrin, top scorer of the match with 18 points.

He had the support of Nicholas Hoag (15) and Justin Duff (12), while Osmany Uriarte (12), Rolando Cepeda (10) and Javier Jimenez (10) stood out for Cuba, according to the website of the contest.

Thus, Canadians, leaders of Group A with record of two wins and no losses, won the title unbeaten. Cuba also reached the final undefeated as leader of Poole B, but with one more win (3).

The team coached by Rodolfo Sanchez had previously beaten Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico, in all cases 3-0, and Puerto Rico (3-1) in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Puerto Rico beat 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19) Mexico for the bronze medal.

With these results, Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico earned their participation in the Final Four, next January, with venue yet to be determined.

The winner of that tournament will ensure its presence in the 2016 Summer Olympics, while those finishing from second to fourth seats will play a repechage event.
