¨The US economic blockade imposed against Cuba prevents American businessmen from providing their services on the island,¨ according to the International Business Development manager at Tradewinds Power Corp, Scott Johnston.

In an interview with Prensa Latina at the company's stand in Expocuba, Johnston said that there was great potential for trade and business between the two countries.

Tradewinds Power Corp, which is participating in the 34th edition of the Havana International Fair FIHAV 2016, is based in Miami, Florida and specializes in the production and supply of equipment that run on fossil fuels such as oil and on renewable sources.

Among its innovative products, is a water pump powered by solar energy, which can be used to supply water for agricultural and livestock.

'Rather than sell our products in Cuba, what we want is to be established here and offer our services where needed,' the businessman said.

'Cuba and the United States are natural markets so it is not a good idea to acquire such products in distant places,' he said.

The number of US companies participating in FIHAV 2016 is higher than in previous expos. Twenty US companies are presenting their products in exhibition hall number 7 at Expocuba.

More than 3,500 participants from 73 countries are participating in FIHAV 2016.
