The average annual temperature in Cuba in 2015 exceeded 1.06 Celsius degrees the historical average of 25.49, according to data from the Institute of Meteorology released today.

The Climate Center of the entity explained to the newspaper Granma the causes of that increase in temperatures, unprecedented since 1951.

The elevation occurs by the development of El Niño / Southern Oscillation in the equatorial Pacific Ocean, in combination with the process of global warming, it was pointed out.

This behavior, the specialists declare, confirms the upward trend in the figures, observed in the country in the last six decades.

The data also point out that there were warm anomalies in almost every month last year, especially those of March, April, November and December.

It is emphasized that generally existed records of maximum temperature in several weather stations and in several towns were recorded values above 37 Celsius degrees .
