In his 34, Dr. Yailier Labrada today reinforces Cuba's solidarity in the Turks and Caicos Islands as a member of the Henry Reeve brigade, in the joint fight against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which caused Covid-19.

Labrada is part of a group of 20 Cuban aid workers who are strengthening the healthcare response in the British overseas territory from their jobs at the Interhealth Canada Hospital in Providenciales.

In spite of his age, the Cuban physician has two internationalist experiences in Venezuela and in this new mission he has the great challenge, together with his brigade, of being the first Cuban health collaborators on the islands.

Speaking to Prensa Latina via the Internet, the Cuban professional highlighted the dedication and responsibility of the entire medical contingent in saving lives and containing the spread of the pandemic in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

After long days of work due to the need for qualified personnel in the overseas territory, Labrada , like the rest of the brigade members, maintains an exemplary and courageous attitude, committed to the welfare of the citizens.

In his native Santiago de Cuba, he left his wife Dalia and children Yailier and Daniela for the family's protection. He asked them not to worry about the risk posed by the Covid-19, since biosecurity measures are being taken to ensure their safe return home.

During the exchange with Prensa Latina, the Cuban collaborator expressed the principles of humanism and solidarity forged in his years of training as a doctor, which motivated him to join the ranks of the Henry Reeve collaboration brigade to support the fight in the small islands.
