Havana, Aug 22 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) reiterated on Monday that individual and family self-responsibility is vital to stop the increase in cases of dengue fever in the country.

In this regard, Minister Jose Angel Portal explained that this disease, like many others, can also lead to death.

In the face of their own complications, patients evolve towards seriousness, and sometimes this can happen very quickly, Portal explained.

Therefore, at the slightest sign of alarm that may appear, especially between the third and seventh day of the first symptoms, such as repeated vomiting, edema or swelling, intense abdominal pain, irritability, drowsiness and bleeding, people should go immediately to the health services.

The fight against dengue in Cuba is everyone’s task, so it is necessary to act responsibly in vector control, both in communities and in workplaces to prevent the proliferation of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, health authorities noted.
