Galiano Gallery Presents "Blind Spot," Solo Exhibition by Cristhian Escalona
especiales

On Friday, July 18, at 6:00 p.m., Galiano Gallery of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Goods will inaugurate Blind Spot, a solo exhibition by young Holguín-based artist Cristhian Escalona.
This exhibition, the result of Escalona’s First Prize at the 2023 Holguín Provincial Visual Arts Salon (with support from Collage Habana Galleries), reaffirms Galiano Gallery’s commitment to promoting and showcasing emerging Cuban art—a mission it has pursued for over a decade as the organizer of the Post-it Contemporary Cuban Art competition.
Blind Spot delves into Escalona’s graphic language, with woodcut printing at the core of his artistic proposal. Through this technique, the artist reflects on power and control dynamics, both globally and individually, while pushing the conceptual boundaries of contemporary printmaking.
Galiano Gallery has served as a vital platform for new talents. The realization of Blind Spot in our space underscores our mission to foster the inclusion and circulation of innovative artistic proposals within Cuba’s cultural landscape.
