Havana, Mar 17 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday praised the new song dedicated to the national baseball team, which was composed by Alexander Abreu, amid the collective joy for the team's qualification to the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic (WBC).
‘Good morning, Cuba. We wake up with Team Asere and Alexander Abreu,’ the president wrot on his official Twitter account, where he shared a fragment of the song and the video clip with which Cubans will continue to support their team at the top, which will take place in this last phase in Miami, the United States, until March 21.
Composed by Abreu and his group, Havana D’Primera, the song features other artists such as Issac Delgado, Alain Perez, Ruben Bulnes, Yasser Ramos, Mario “Mayito” Rivera, and Abdel Rasalps (El Lele), vocalists of the legendary Los Van Van orchestra.
In the lyrics, the musicians praise the power of the team led by Armando Johnson, which began its journey in Taiwan with two defeats and when everyone thought it was lost, it came out with all its might to advance to the second round as leader of Pool A (Italy, the Netherlands, Panama and Taiwan).
