Cuba reports 1 116 new COVID-19 cases and 9 deaths

Havana, May 10 (RHC)-- Cuba reported 1,116 new cases of Covid-19, nine deaths, and 5,988 people with the disease over the last 24 hours.

Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology, informed during a daily televised press briefing that 23,864 people are hospitalized, including active, suspected, and under surveillance.

Regarding pediatric cases, the specialist said that 159 children were detected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

The expert reported the death of nine patients in the last hours, bringing the total number since the beginning of the pandemic in the country to 741.

From March 2020 to date, 117,97 thousand 97 citizens have fallen ill with Covid-19 in the Caribbean island.
