Cuba studied a total of 37,980 samples for surveillance during the day, resulting positive 1,946. The country accumulates 11, 836,693 samples taken and 972,513 were positive.

At the end of January 6, 12,848 patients were admitted, 7,135 suspected, 495 under surveillance and 5,218 confirmed active.

Of the total number of cases, 1,791 were contacts of confirmed cases; 118 with source of infection abroad and 37 with no source of infection determined. There were 531 medical discharges, accumulating 958,913 recovered patients (98.6%) and there were no deaths. A total of 35 confirmed patients are being treated in ICUs, 6 of them in critical and 29 in serious condition.

Among the 1,946 positive cases, 21.8% (425) were asymptomatic, totaling 135,078, representing 13.8% of those confirmed to date, and the diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (401), 20 to 39 (658), 40 to 59 (590), and over 60 (297).
