Cuba is ready to resume contacts with the Major League Baseball (MLB) of the United States in order to insert its talents in U.S. teams, Ernesto Reinoso, national commissioner, remarked on Saturday.

The manager reiterated during an interview with Prensa Latina that the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB) has always been willing to exchange experience with the MLB and therefore secure negotiations for its players.

'We have always been willing to resume conversations and strengthen ties, always in the interest of raising the level and quality of our players,' Reinoso said.

Reinoso also recalled that two years ago the FCB and the MLB agreed on Cuban players playing in the United States with no arbitrary conditions, however the agreement was rejected by the Executive of US President Donald Trump.

Now, the possibility of changes in the leadership of the White House might make it possible for the baseball authorities of both countries to resume the agreements so that several of the best Cuban talents can play in the so-called 'Big Show.'

However, Reinoso told Prensa Latina that this availability is also open to other leagues affiliated with the Caribbean Confederation as well as any other.
