Cuba Closes In on Chile and Canada in Asunción 2025 Medal Standing

Cuba intensified its push today to overtake Chile and Canada for sixth place in the medal standings at the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games, with only one day remaining in competition.
The Cuban delegation, currently in eighth place, captured three gold medals on Friday to raise its total to 17. That left the island nation just one behind Chile in seventh and two behind Canada in sixth.
Trailing Cuba are Venezuela with a 12-13-19 tally, Puerto Rico with 7-7-12, Ecuador with 6-13-14, Guatemala with 5-3-4, Jamaica with 4-5-6, Paraguay with 3-5-13, and Peru with 3-4-14.
At the top of the standings, the United States consolidated its hold on second place with 54 golds, 42 silvers, and 44 bronzes. Brazil maintained a wide lead in first place with 69-49-54.
