Cuba began 2024 with tourist growth, report reveals

Cuba welcomed more than 314,000 travelers in January, an increase of 3.9 percent compared to the same period of 2023, the National Office of Statistics and Information (ONEI) reported today.
The 314,423 arrivals meant that 11,806 more people visited the country, when compared in absolute numbers, the digital publication added.
The number of international visitors also increased in the first month of 2024, with the registration of 259,898, who arrived in the country for leisure, recreation, business or other personal reasons.
This represented an increase of 4.3 percent, with 10,683 more international visitors than in January of last year, ONEI indicated.
Canada, Russia, the Cuban community abroad, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Argentina and Spain were among the main sources of visitors.
