Eduardo Rodriguez Davila, Cuban minister of transport, is attending from today the 3rd World Symposium on Support for the Implementation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which is being held in the Dominican Republic until May 2.

For Cuba's economy, in which tourism, and therefore aviation, have an important role, these meetings are propitious moments to arrange alliances and explore possibilities for other airlines to fly to the country, among other aspects of interest, Rodriguez Davila said on his official Facebook page.

After his official visit to Iran, the minister is making a stopover in the Dominican Republic to attend the symposium, at the invitation of ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar.

In his statement, Rodriguez Davila highlighted that in this edition, a ministerial round table will be held at the event to promote the exchange of best practices and ways to achieve a balance between the socio-economic benefits of air transport, with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality.

The 3rd ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium will focus on strategies and practices aimed at increasing aviation capacity for safe skies and a sustainable future, he said.

It will also address priority areas such as: advanced air mobility, cybersecurity, crisis preparedness, aviation training, air transport and tourism, airport development and airport infrastructure.
