According to the musician, composer and producer, known in show business as El Matador, the seventh tour of the group through the northern country will be in October and November in several stages, among them the well-known night club Conga Room of Los Angeles.

We hope to continue having a warm reception by the U.S. audience, as until now, he said in statements to Prensa Latina.

The eve, the Cuban National Septet acted before hundreds of persons in the concert hall of the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts, in the Bronx, where he shared the stage with the Broadway Orchestra.

For Oropesa, music represents a big opportunity of laying bridges between Cuba and the United States, two countries that last July reestablished diplomatic relations and advance on a complex path toward normalization of their links, after decades of drifting apart.

“Without doubts, music can be that approaching lane, in the island we are ready to solve all the differences”, he assured.

According to El Matador, the group founded in 1927 by Ignacio Piñeiro insists in its objective to take Cuban traditional music through the world and represent the greater of the Antilles before the most diverse audiences.

Regarding the sustained success of the National Septet, he asserted it is the fruit of upholding after four generations, the defense of the traditional Cuban music like the son, the bolero and the guajira as well as the style and the tone of its unforgettable founder.

In our repertoire we still have Echale Salsita, Esas no son cubanas, Bardo, Mayeya don’t play with the saints and other antological themes that we like to share with the U.S. audience, he stressed.

Last night, many of those songs together with Lagrimas Negras, Chan Chan and the Cuarto de Tula were part of an applauded show in the Lehman Center of the Performing Arts of the Big Apple.

The Cuban National Septet promotes its next CD titled The Greatest and Universal, of the record label Bis Music. (Prensa Latina)
