Santa Clara, Cuba, Oct 21 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's Culture Minister Alpidio Alonso highlighted the unity of Cubans in culture and homeland when speaking at the gala on occasion of the 15th anniversary of the creation of the Jose Marti Art Teachers Brigade by the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro.

In a crowded gala, staged at the Ernesto Che Guevara square, the place where the remains of Che and his fellow guerrillas rest, Alonso recalled October 20, 2004, Cuban Culture Day, when in this same place Fidel presided over the founding of the Art Teachers program and the establishment of the Jose Marti Brigade.

The cultural policy of the Cuban Revolution will always be in favor of culture, history, heritage and identity, the minister said.

During the activity, five Art Teachers, who currently hold other responsibilities in the country, received the 15th anniversary of the Jose Marti Brigade award.

Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez and the first secretary of the Young Communist League Susely Morfa, among other leaders, also attended the gala.
