Havana, (Prensa Latina) Cuban writers and artists have recognized this Sunday the state support in their country for the authentic creator of art and literature.

During the closing day of the 9th Congress of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the delegates of the first debating commission assured that without state support they would be exposed without protection to commercial norms of supply and demand.

At the same time, they agreed that the art market should not determine artistic and literary hierarchies.

New technologies will be used according to the ideals and legitimate principles that foster ethical and aesthetic values, as well as establishing cultural programming as one of the central pillars for the hierarchization of culture.

Delegates to the 11th Congress recommended fostering daily critical spaces as tools for orientation and diffusion in radio, television and new media programs and encouraging the creation of forums to map out strategies and actions. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, along with other government authorities, participated in the closing day of the event, held at the Convention Center in Havana.
