Silvio Rodríguez Performs in Valencia as Part of Ongoing Spanish Tour
Following a sold-out weekend at the Euskalduna Theatre in Bilbao, Cuban singer-songwriter Silvio Rodríguez is scheduled to perform this Wednesday at the Roig Arena in Valencia as part of his Spanish tour, which began on September 1 in Barcelona and is set to conclude on October 4 at Madrid's Movistar Arena. Accompanied by musicians Niurka González, Malva Rodríguez, Rachid López, Maykel Elizalde, Jorge Reyes, Emilio Vega, Jorge Aragón, and Oliver Valdés, the founder of Cuba's Nueva Trova movement is delivering a repertoire of classic hits alongside newer material. During his stop in Bilbao, the concert was accompanied by a solidarity rally supporting Cuba against U.S. sanctions, as well as a post-performance meeting between the artist and long-time followers of his official blog, Segunda Cita.
The ongoing tour across the Iberian Peninsula also features the presentation of the book Silvio Rodríguez, diario de un trovador by photographer Daniel Mordzinski, which showcases a collection of photographs paired with commentary from the musician. Following his show in Valencia, Rodríguez is scheduled to perform in A Coruña on September 19, Sevilla on September 26, Murcia on October 1, and Madrid on October 4, before heading to Mexico for an announced series of concert dates in April 2027.
