The Spanish hotel company is strengthening its focus on this country today, making it evident during the 44th Cuba International Tourism Fair (FITCuba 2026). Both the virtual halls of the meeting and attendees from various countries took note of the words shared by the Marketing Director of Meliá Hotels in Cuba, Maite Artieda Barroso.

During her participation in the gathering, the executive highlighted the cultural richness, natural environment, and the identity of a highly attractive destination. She noted that Meliá Cuba maintains its operations with a full capacity to adapt to any circumstance.

In this context, they continue to provide the most outstanding comprehensive accommodation experiences for travelers. For these purposes, they have hotels fully available in key destinations across the island. In the capital, these include the Meliá Habana, Meliá Cohiba, Tryp Habana Libre, INNSiDE Habana Catedral, and Sevilla Habana Affiliated by Meliá.

Regarding the Varadero resort area, she mentioned the Paradisus Varadero, Meliá Internacional Varadero, Meliá Las Américas, Meliá Varadero, and Sol Caribe Beach establishments. In the case of Cayo Santa María, she noted the Paradisus Los Cayos. Furthermore, she referred to the province of Cienfuegos with the Meliá San Carlos; in Trinidad, the Meliá Trinidad Península; and in Santiago de Cuba, the Meliá Santiago de Cuba.

"In each of them, excellence of service and human warmth define Meliá’s services," she argued. In all these hotels, they maintain consistently high levels of customer satisfaction, backed by the professionalism of their teams.

The executive declared the refinement of services, attractive proposals, and other provisions as Meliá's strong points in Cuba. She stressed that all of this positions them as a benchmark in the organization of events within the destination. Golf also allows for the completion of a stay with sporting experiences in natural settings, offered in both adults-only and family-friendly formats.

Media outlets such as the Digital Newspaper of Central America and the Caribbean immediately echoed her words, spreading Meliá's message regarding its potential in Cuba. They wrote that all their hotels offer the highest standards, supported by the professionalism of the teams and with a view toward total customer satisfaction. The continuous support of the importing entity MESOL is vital to guaranteeing the constant quality of services.

In several Meliá Cuba hotels—with an emphasis on those that are temporarily consolidated—renovation processes are being carried out to elevate the guest experience. Likewise, the hotel chain continues to expand its presence in the country, thanks to the upcoming opening of Sol Hicacos Varadero, an All-Inclusive resort focused on the family segment in the island's largest seaside resort.

Additionally, Meliá Cuba continues to develop specific proposals for key segments such as weddings and honeymoons, MICE (meetings, groups, and incentives), golf, wellness, families, and adults-only. Among its most recent innovations is the "Pet Friendly by Meliá" program, already available at the Meliá Habana and Meliá Las Américas hotels, which allows travelers to enjoy their vacations without being separated from their pets, with all cleaning and safety protocols guaranteed.

FITCuba attendees commented that these proposals from Meliá are worthy of attention and monitoring for the near future, particularly as the island's economic situation improves.
