Three flight options are currently available for Canadians wishing to travel to Cuba for vacation or medical tourism, even though direct flights between the two countries are not presently operating.

The outlet Cuba Medical Tourism, founded to provide information on medical tourism services and the healthcare system on the Caribbean island, specified that travelers departing from Canada may access the following routes:

Via Miami (American Airlines) to Havana, Santa Clara, Camagüey, and Holguín. Via Panama City (Copa Airlines) to Havana. Via Mexico City (Aeromexico) to Havana.

The platform highlights the importance of applying for an electronic visa at least 72 hours before departure, as well as completing the D'Viajeros form prior to travel.

It also notes that hotels and transfers are available through Hola Sun Holidays and that, despite current fuel availability limitations on the island, travel to other parts of Cuba remains feasible, including accommodations at hotels in cities outside of Havana.

The Viazul intercity bus network continues to operate between cities. Its schedule has been adjusted to reflect current national conditions, but passengers can safely book bus travel online through the carrier's website, preferably in advance.

Canadians may also book all-inclusive hotel packages through Hola Sun, which guarantees transportation to hotels in Varadero and other Cuban destinations. Reservations can be made by contacting Hola Sun directly via email at sales@holasunholidays.ca or groups@holasunholidays.ca, or by phone at 905.882.0136, Ext. 434.

A Destination for Healing

Cuba's medical tourism services have earned an international reputation for delivering high-quality care provided by highly trained specialists at affordable prices, in a safe destination.

Comprehensive treatment programs are available with specialists fluent in English, French, and Spanish. Hospitals and treatment centers hold accreditation from Bureau Veritas of France and the ONN.

On its website, Cuba Medical Tourism explains that since 2017, the organization has assisted individuals who, having found no satisfactory solution to their health conditions at home, received the medical attention they needed on the island.
