Cuban President Reaffirms Commitment to Systematic Communication With the People

Intervención del presidente cubano Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stated Friday that his government's systematic press meetings are intended to keep the population informed about the adjustments demanded by the prolonged U.S. economic blockade against the island.
During his remarks, the president recalled that approximately one month ago he held a similar appearance focused on measures to confront the energy blockade and the ongoing fuel shortage.
On that occasion, he noted, deputy prime ministers and other senior officials expanded upon the information provided and helped clarify citizens' concerns.
"Today we can confirm that for more than three months no fuel shipment has entered our country, and that we are working under very adverse conditions that have an immeasurable impact on the lives of all our people," Díaz-Canel stated.
The president announced that the briefing series will continue beginning next Monday, when deputy prime ministers, cabinet ministers, and other government officials will address in greater detail the topics discussed, in order to respond to the population's questions and expectations.
"We will hold another meeting like this one at the appropriate time, because the intention is to make this systematic," he emphasized.
