Anisley García and Frank Abel Rosales will represent Cuba on Thursday in the opening phase of the 2026 Diving World Cup, which is scheduled to run through Sunday in Montreal, Canada.

García — widely known as "La Tuti" — will be the first to take the platform for Cuba, competing in the preliminaries of the 3-meter springboard, a discipline in which she managed, one year ago, to secure a spot in what is known as the "Super Final."

That stage, held in the Chinese capital as the closing event of the 2025 circuit, was reserved exclusively for the 12 top-performing women based on cumulative scores from the two preceding rounds of the World Cup series.

A similar format will govern the 2026 season. The Canadian stop will be followed by a second competition in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, scheduled for March 5 through 8. The 12 athletes with the best combined results in each gender category — across individual springboard and platform events — will earn their berths in the grand finale.

That closing stage is set to take place from May 1 through 3 at the iconic Water Cube in Beijing, the landmark aquatic venue constructed for the 2008 Olympic Games.

In Montreal, García will also compete from the platform, her primary event, while Frank Abel Rosales will focus solely on the 3-meter springboard, with his preliminary round scheduled for Friday.

Both Cuban athletes have been training in Canada for several months under a scholarship granted by World Aquatics. Their preparation remains firmly focused on the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, to be held in Santo Domingo.
