According to the National Commissioner, Rene Perez, Cuba soccer players could be signed very soon in foreign leagues.
It would mean the end of a decade of agony in the sport in Cuba. So far, Cuban players could only play in the domestic league.
Less than a month ago, five players became pioneers while they were allowed to participate in the preseason of the Mexican club Santos Laguna after a friendly match. Those players are: Arichel Hernandez, Sandy Sanchez, and Arturo Diz Pe. Maykel Reyes and Abel Martinez are members of the Cruz Azul.
According to Perez, Cuban players will play in different Central American leagues. Other Portuguese clubs are also interested.
