Russia-China: Work Begins to Expand Capacity of the Power of Siberia Gas Pipeline

VLADIVOSTOK – Work has commenced to increase the capacity of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, which transports Russian natural gas to China, Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev announced to journalists on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
"The design work for the capacity expansion is currently underway," stated Tsivilev. "Once it is completed, we will announce the specific timeline for the increase in supply. For now, we have reached the design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters."
The project will boost the pipeline's annual capacity by an additional 6 billion cubic meters, bringing its total throughput to 44 billion cubic meters. This expansion underscores the deepening energy partnership between Moscow and Beijing.
