The 18th International Seminar on Journalism and Tourism begins today with a program focused on current travel trends and global promotion.

The event is scheduled to run from June 16 to 20, with academic sessions held at the José Martí International Institute of Journalism. The seminar will feature talks addressing the latest developments in travel both within Cuba and worldwide.

Sponsored by the Tourism Press Circle of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC), the seminar annually attracts the attention of tour operators and travel agents.

The opening ceremony will be led by Cuban Deputy Minister of Tourism, Adalberto Venero. The first day will include a keynote presentation on Content Strategies, featuring a case study from the Meliá Trinidad Península hotel, presented by the hotel chain’s social media manager, Lysielle Mora.

This edition will also cover topics related to nature travel, adventure tourism, and rural tourism.

Aimed at journalists, communicators, and other professionals, the seminar provides an ideal platform to analyze global tourism and communication trends, with a special focus on the rise of ecotourism and the impact of artificial intelligence.
